Brim-contacts is an opensource webbased contact manager/address book that allows you to store all your contacts in a secure (password protected) way. Contacts can be grouped into folders and import/export to popular formats is available.

Collections

The collections plugin for the brim framework is a opensource webbased collection manager which surveys your collections of CDs, DVDs, books, films, fotos, music etc. The thumbnail view helps to find fotos and with the playlist feature you can stream music in the desired order...

The manager allows you to store the genre/title, the artist/actor/author and a description in the database. The tree view with folders helps to order the entries. With the search function, entries can be easely found.

This plugin can scan trees on the harddisk/CDs/DVDs and store the information. So the tree can be browsed offline, i.e. when a CD is not in the computer. This allows to find a file or to check on which CD collection the song can be found. When browsing the tree and the files are available, they can be display/executed/played directly over the web

Depot tracker - stocks

The depot plugin is written for the brim framework. It is a opensource webbased depot tracker and has the same look & feel. The users portfolio and currencies can be tracked automatically online from yahoo finance. So the portfolio is always up to date and the depot value is calculated in the users currency. The plugin allows to buy/sell shares and to survey the performance with a chart.

It is possible to feed the share value manually. So the plugin can be used for other data or shares which are not listed from yahoo finance.

E-banking

When you would like to do your business of a bank over the internet, the bank provides you with an e-banking account. With this e-banking account it is possible to manage one or more bank accounts. This means, you can see the account balance, the last transactions and do your paying.

Usually, you get an identification number and a password from the bank, with which you get access to your bank accounts. For many banks, this is not a sufficient protection. Therefore, the bank often provides you in addition a cancellist with secrets to increase the security.

Every time you want to log in, you have to put, in addition to your password, the next valid secret (usually a sequence of numbers and characters) from the cancellist. A secret can only be used once and is decayed directly after a correct authentication. The next time you log in, the bank will request the next valid secret.

The secrets allows you the have a certain control over your e-banking account too. When you log in the next time and the bank is requesting the second next secret, then you have either forgot the last time to cut (mark as decayed) the secret or somebody got your identification number, your password and your cutlist and gained access to your bank accounts.

News/RSS Client

Brim-news is an opensource Webbased newsfeed (RSS) reader. Brim-news allows you to store all your news-related items in a secure (password protected) way and view them via a webbrowser.

Brim-news has the following features

• RSS/RDF parsing to deliver the latest news of your favorite news (RSS-enabled!) site!
• Netscape/Mozilla bookmarks import and export functionality
• Opera import and export functionality
• Search possibility on name, url or description
• Interface to easy add, move or delete news items
• Multiple views are available. A directory structure in the line of Yahoo's directory and a tree structure like any file manager offers. The last one can be fully expanded and collapsed by a single mouseclick.
• Support for unlimited folders with unlimited depth
• Support for unlimited news-feeds (although performance will go down when parsing lots of feeds!)

Brim-tasks is an opensource webbased task/todo management system which allows you to keep track of your list of tasks in a secure (password protected way). Brim-tasks allows you to keep track of your tasks in a hierarchical way (using a folder structre), assign due-dates, priorities to tasks etc.

Passwords

Brim-passwords is an opensource webbased password manager that securely (password based) stores your passwords in a database in an encrypted way so even the database admin does not have access to your passwords. Brim-passwords also has a password generator that enables you to create different passwords for sites while you only need to remember one master password!

Brim-passwords has the following features:

• Using a passphrase, you can store any text you like in the database. Safe, encrypted. This plugin should, of course, be used over a secure connection (https)
• Site-based password generated, you only need to remember one masterpassword!
